Our History

Driven by the motto “Aliis cum Humanitate” which translates as “Consideration for Others”, The Lighthouse Club is The Construction Industry Charity and a focal point for all those working in, or connected with, the construction industry.

Established in the UK in 1956 and in Singapore in 2000 (where it is registered with the Registry of Societies, Government of Singapore under Unique Entity Number T00SS0060E), the Lighthouse Club now has branches worldwide – in the Asia Pacific Region there are branches in Thailand, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Cambodia, Australia, The Philippines, Vietnam, and Singapore.

We aim to promote fellowship and co-operation amongst all members as well as to develop a Benevolent Fund that provides financial assistance to victims of construction industry-related accidents or illness and to victims’ dependents where a fatal accident has occurred. We also support local students studying subjects related to construction industry and the built environments via various scholarships and book prizes.
